In tilt-pair data collection, each molecule is imaged twice at different but controlled views.  The tilt-pair data can substantially simplify the analysis of angular reconstitution because particle orientations are now restrained by the experimental tilt-geometry.  In a tilt-pair model reconstruction, corresponding particles from tilt-related micrographs are grouped into a pair of stacks, {A} and {B}.  Then, particles in stack {A} are sorted into homogeneous classes.  From one such class of {A}, a 3D model can be reconstructed directly by using the tilt-related particles in stack {B}.
